Carla Edwards

Carla Edwards designs and makes beautiful colourful contemporary jewellery from her workshop in Leith, Edinburgh.

She uses colourful resins alongside silver and gold. Techniques such as mould making, casting, carving and polishing give the jewellery a playful but expertly finished look. Her work is often inspired by the small botanical details of plants, Carla sketches in her garden, woodlands and the famous Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh. Alongside this contemporary drawing-based approach she also uses traditional metalworking and silversmithing techniques with aluminium leaf, gold leaf, silver and 18ct gold.

Carla graduated from Edinburgh college of art in 1997 with an honours degree in Applied Art and Design, followed by a PGDip in Jewellery and Silversmithing in 1998.  Since launching her jewellery label in 1999 she has supplied and exhibited internationally.
