Elizabeth Renton
Elizabeth Renton makes wheel thrown Tableware from Stoneware and Porcelain.
Simple forms are thrown on the wheel merging traditional and modern techniques and each piece is hand formed and decorated using a range of Sgraffito, incised lines and grooves are then glazed and fired in an electric kiln.
Elizabeth’s work draws inspiration from a diverse range of sources, these include industrial and farming architecture and heritage crafts. Yet with the common thread being both minimalist and restrained.
Processes and craftsmanship are important elements, these run alongside her work. “My work has a serene and tranquil quality made to be used and enjoyed in every day life’”
