Mizuki Takahashi

Born in Ibaraki, Japan in 1985, Mizuki graduated from Akita Municipal Junior College of Arts and Crafts in Visual Design. After that, she became interested in making jewellery and seeking a challenge in a totally different environment and came to Hereford UK in 2011 to study and graduated with a first class with honours in BA Jewellery Design

In Mizuki’s collection of jewellery, paper-thin porcelain or enamelled copper elements are set on an oxidised silver wire structure to sit like a drawing on the body. Mark-making and drawings are also important processes in her jewellery making. She examines the balance in space involving light and shadow, working with these delicate paper-thin elements and lines to weave a narrative into her jewellery.
